I Know (The End)
image1

I had a dream– an epiphanic vision!
Of the day the world ends:
Time stood still, the air heavy,
and the Heavens fell to my feet.

I could see the future so
they cut out my tongue,
Put crosses above windows and
salt in doorways to keep me out.

I know I had a hand in
the fall of Rome,
the flight of Icarus,
the fate of Medusa.
I tried to call out but
they said I had crossed the line.

I know (the end)
but they dismiss my warnings.
So I instead sit in solemn silence–
unburdened and unbothered.
They hurtle to the edge and
I now gladly watch them fall.
